Who Am I?

My family is originally from Afghanistan and my native language is Persian (Dari). Since the war started in Afghanistan my life has always been about adjustment to distinct cultures and people. I was born in Uzbekistan where the majority of people know how to speak Russian. I was attending Russian school and that was the time when Russian became my main language. In 2005, my family moved to the beautiful country Ukraine. I got my high school degree and I was pursuing a degree in International Relations, which was all in Ukrainian. In 2012, I moved to a land of opportunities, the United States of America, where I learned English.
Persian (dari), Russian, Ukrainian and English
Soccer Player:
Soccer has always been a part of my life and I learned some lessons that I can apply to the world off the field:
-
Being positive moves you further. Going to the field with a positive mind will give one motivation and a much better chance to win.
-
Team player: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” —African Proverb. As a team member one should always communicate with one another and should always compromise when there is a dispute.
-
Practice makes it better. It is all about being better and not about being perfect. A person should never stop learning and should constantly improve. We should be focused on our goals and learn from failures.
